Aussie Pro, Deyen "Digger" Lawson Signs With Scruffys Golf

After hoisting the trophy at last week’s $50,000 Queanbeyan Open, Queensland-based Victorian pro, Deyen “Digger” Lawson has signed with Scruffys Golf for the 2021 season.

Kicking off his 2021 campaign in hot form with an early win which featured an opening round course record 61, Lawson took the title at Queanbeyan wearing the bold Scruffys “Play Through” Bamboo Performance Polo. With the ambassadorship now official, Lawson is set to continue to wear Scruffys apparel in tournaments through the 2021 pro season.

Scruffys Golf Founder, Jonathan Forage said “We’re thrilled to have Digger join the Scruffys team and we’re excited to support him throughout this tour season. As a pro who shares our vision for how the game should progress into the future and is excited to build that future with us both domestically and at international tour events, it’s a perfect fit."

Speaking about the partnership, Lawson said “The things that appeal to me with Scruffys is how comfortable the shirts are. I’m built for comfort, so being comfortable on course is big, the style looks really good and they’re eco-friendly so it’s a big tick for me. Being able to really move and swing as hard as you want with driver knowing it’s not going to untuck, gives you confidence on the course.”

As golf in Australia enters a new era post COVID-19, Forage sees 2021 as a unique opportunity to progress the looks, approach and traditions that will drive golf into the future. “With so many new and returning players engaging with the golf during the craziness of 2020, we see a huge opportunity to create a new standard for performance apparel that is tailored to this new breed of Australian golfers and represents the modern game.”

Digger will continue his hot start to the season this week at the Isuzu Queensland Open at Pelican Waters Golf Club.
